Two notorious drug peddlers have been booked under Public safety act in North Kashmir’s Handwara, a police spokesman said.
He said that continuing its drive against the drug menace, police today booked two notorious drug peddlers involved in many cases. These drugs peddlers have been identified as Ashiq Hussain Ganai son of Khizar Mohd Ganai a resident of Khanbal Handwara and Ishfaq Ahmed Mir son of Late Abdul Rashid Mir a resident of Badra Payain Kralkund
Meanwhile, two people were arrested with poppy straw in Qazigund.
A police party of police post Jawahar Tunnel, Qazigund during Naka checking intercepted a Tavera vehicle bearing registered number JK03A-4159 at Command Post North Portal. During checking police recovered 20 Kilograms of Poppy straw from the possession of two people boarding the vehicle.
They were identified as Kaisar Singh son of Kashmir Singh resident of Kulgrah, Shaheed Bagaht Singh Nagar Punjab and jangar Singh son of Payra Singh resident of Kundanpora Balachour, Punjab. Both of them have been taken into custody and further investigation has been taken up.
