National Conference working president Omar Abdullah, on Thursday, said the brave, resilient women of Jammu and Kashmir have borne the brunt of turmoil, uncertainty and instability in the state.
He said they have strived against all odds to be an integral part of the state’s movement towards prosperity and peace.
Addressing a women’s convention organized by National Conference Women’s Wing at party head office ‘Nawa-e-Subha’, Abdullah said the party’s women activists had always played a pivotal role in strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
He said, “Our mothers, sisters and daughters have shown exemplary fortitude and resilience in striving for the rights of our state and its people. They have borne the brunt of turmoil in the state and despite unimaginable circumstances, they have never hesitated to stand up. In empowering our women and ensuring they are heard, respected and given due representation, we will be shaping a bright future for our state.”
