Defying police restrictions, AIP observes State Flag Day

Despite being denied the permission by the state administration AIP, on Wednesday, observed the State Flag Day.

People in large numbers attended the flag hoisting ceremony at Municipal Park Jawahar Nagar. The state flag was hoisted and the state anthem was sung with a lot of fervor.

The AIP workers demanded that the state government should ensure that state flag flies high at High Court and other places and also demanded that June 7 should be declared a state holiday.

Speaking on the occasion party supremo and MLA Langate, Er. Rasheed, reiterated that restoration of autonomy is not the solution and Kashmiris would not accept anything less than a plebiscite.

Er. Rasheed said, “Till a final resolution, Kashmiris have to ensure that Centre doesn’t weaken the provisions or the status which the state is enjoying.”  He said that Huriyat leaders are not terrorists, if this would have been true then why did former prime minister Manmohan Singh spoke to JKLF chief Yasin Malik and BJP veteran leader Lal Krishan Advani to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

He lashed out at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for allowing the raids conducted by National Investigation Agency (NIA) and said that she had surrendered her self-respect.
