Clashes in Pulwama against Shopian youth’s killing

Clashes erupted amid a complete shutdown in Pulwama town of south Kashmir on Wednesday against the killing of a civilian in firing by government forces in adjoining Shopian district last evening.

According to the sources, the youth took to streets and hurled rocks at the police and paramilitary personnel deployed in the town.

Forces responded by firing tear smoke shells, triggering massive clashes.

Adil Farooq Magray, a college student, was hit by a bullet in his chest after forces opened fire to disperse protesters who were trying to disrupt an anti-militant operation in Ganawpora village of Shopian district.
