Anantnag police Sunday recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested the accused involved in the crime within 10 hours.

As per the statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters,  Police Station Mattan received a written complaint from a person that his daughter was missing from her home.

“On this information Police Station Mattan lodged a report and investigation was set into motion. During the course of investigation, it was revealed that one person namely Zakir Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat resident of Srinagar has kidnapped the girl, “the statement said.

“After strenuous efforts, Anantnag police recovered the girl within 10 hours and arrested the accused from Srinagar.”

After completion of all legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her family.
