Though the National Investigation Team (NIA) started raiding the houses of pro-freedom leaders and businessmen in the Valley, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) Sunday decided to hold a joint meet to discuss the situation and its implications on Kashmiris.
According to a statement issued here, the joint leaders including Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik said that a joint meeting of the leadership will be held at the residence of Geelani tomorrow at 11 AM.
“Post meeting, the joint leadership will address a press conference at Geelani’s residence to keep the people updated regarding the discussion and the course of action that will follow,” the statement added.
The leaders said that the policy of ‘witch hunt and terrorization’ launched by the Indian state against the resistance leadership and the business community of the Valley to defame and weaken the people’s political struggle and simultaneously cripple the economy of Kashmir is ‘despicable and deplorable’ to say the least.
The statement further adds that such ‘dirty ploys will neither demoralize the people from their faith in their political struggle and their leadership nor will it help shift focus from the actual issue on the ground and the unprecedented atrocities committed against the Kashmiri people’.
“What such baseness exposes is the anti Kashmir and anti Muslim mindset of the ruling class both in India and in Kashmir, who are seeking revenge from people both at a political and economic level,” the leadership added.
