Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed A Rana today called for stern action against all those people who are involved in drugs peddling in the area and are eroding the roots of society.

He focussed on this while chairing a meeting of police officers in Mendhar.

Meeting was chaired by MLA Javed A Rana in which Sub Divisional Police Officer Mendhar and other officials of police took part.

On this occasion, a threadbare discussion was held on drugs menace in the area and emphasis was laid on removing this menace from society.

MLA, while hailing the crackdown put on drug peddlers in Rajouri town by district administration of Rajouri district, called for a similar action in Mendhar and assured every possible cooperation to police in this regard.

Besides, he also asked police to hold a meeting with local army authorities and to ensure that movement of civilians in the villages near border is not restricted without any reason as life of people come to standstill in such cases and also to deploy lady cop’s on border movement gates.

Meanwhile, MLA also asked officers of Power Development Department to ensure that proper power supply is maintained during the holy month of Ramzan.

He also asked PDD officers to ensure that power supply in water supply stations is maintained in a proper manner so that water supply schemes don’t get affected.

On the other hand, MLA Mendhar Javed Rana also called upon a famous religious scholar who reached Mendhar to lay foundation stone of a religious institution.

Rana, in his meeting with religious leader, discussed issues related to communal harmony and also informed him about rich communal harmony and brotherhood of Mendhar.
