Student protests erupt across Kashmir

Protests erupted across Kashmir after the news of killing of Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Sabzar Ahmad Bhat spread in the valley.

According to the reports, Students protested in Lal Chowk, Srinagar when students pelted stones on a CRPF bunker near Exchange road. Sources said that protests are currently going on at Poly techinique College and Amar singh College in Gogibagh, Srinagar.

Students of Government Degree College Bijbehara blocked Bijbehara-Pehalgam road near Degree College Bijbehara and started protesting against the killing of HM commander Sabzar Bhat.

Student protests were also reported from Seer Hamdan in south Kashmir’s  Mattan town.

Meanwhile, Kashmir University students erupted in a protest inside the campus. the protests were going on when the last reports came in.

According to the reports coming from Handwara in Kupwara, the students of Government Degree College have upped ante and are raising massive pro-freedom slogans after news reached the strict that Sabzar has been killed in the Tral firefight.

Similar reports from Government Degree College Baramulla said that armed forces allegedly fired tear gas shells inside the campus.
