Joint Resistance leadership have called for protests on Friday against awarding army officer who used a Kashmiri man as a human shield on April 9.
Reports quoting Hurriyat spokesperson said that joint resistance leaders have called for protests across Kashmir against awarding of the army officer who tied a man to his jeep.
Major Leetul Gogoi of 53 RR had tied Farooq Ahmad Dar to a Jeep and paraded him for hours together in different villages of central Kashmir’s Baudgam district on by-poll day.
Gogoi was recently awarded by Chief of Army Staff’s (COAS) Commendation Card for his “sustained distinguished service in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir”.
Meanwhile, Farooq Ahmad Dar today filed a complaint against the Army Major in Jammu and Kashmir State Human Rights Commission in Srinagar against the award by the army chief to the accused officer.
