DDC chairs DLRC meet, asks banks to focus on small scale loans

District Development Commissioner, Sheetal Nanda today chaired the District Level Review Committee Meet to review the progress of banks in key areas relating to Deposits, Advances and Priority sector lending for the quarter ending March 2017.

Lead Bank Manager, Satish Sharma apprised the meeting that CD ratio of district was 44.39% and 673 awareness programmes were organized by banks during the last financial year

DDC while speaking on the occasion asked the concerned  departments to ascertain and resolve the bottlenecks in approval of loan cases by banks to ensure that the beneficiaries fully avail the benefits of government schemes. She also directed GM DIC to register eligible cases under ‘Stand up India’ scheme and facilitate bank loans to them.

Reviewing progress under Prime Minister’s Social Security Schemes, DDC asked banks to make customers aware about renewal of the insurance policies and to keep sufficient funds available in their bank accounts for auto debit of premium. She asked banks to tap potential of educational and housing loans, besides, providing more credit facilities to self help groups.

DDC also asked the Banks to pay particular attention to loans benefiting micro and small enterprises.

DDM NABARD, Surinder Singh informed that ‘NABARD’ shall be organizing awareness programmes on ‘Per Drop More Crop’ campaign across 200 villages in the District.

LDO Abhilasha Diwakar, CPO Jasbir Singh and GM DIC Varinder Manyal were also present in the meeting.
