Maulvies return to Valley after 10-day tour

 

A 10-days long tour for ‘Maulvies’ organised by Widdipura based RR Battalion has returned to valley, army spokesman said..

“20 Maulvies of North Kashmir went from Kashmir to Delhi-Jaipur-Ajmer from 10 May to 20 May 17. Today the tour was welcomed in a huge ceremony which was attented by hundreds of people including family members of these maulivies, Senior Army and Civil Administration,” army spokesman said.

The tour was organised with an aim to provide opportunities to respected members of society to interact with co-religioist people across the country, he said.

“During the tour, Maulivies offered prayers at holy and pious places like Ajmer Sharif Dargah, Nizammuddin Aulia Dargah and Jama Masjid. They were also taken to Jaipur wherein they visited places like fort of Amer, Hawa Mahel and other historical places,” the spokesman said.

“While speaking about their experience on the ceremony, Maulvies shared their experience as to how people of all faiths have extended them with warm welcome and expressed their gratitude for allowing them to avail such thoughtful opportunity. They made a special mention that during the tour they met many co-religioist and people with others faiths but never felt any difference.”

Chief guest of the event General Officer Commanding Kilo Force Maj Gen AK Singh, SM, VSM congratulated all for making the tour a success. While addressing huge gathering over 250 people General Officer mentioned that Islam propagates ‘Peace and Well Being’ of humanity and that’s what the tour was meant for. He said the such exchange programme allow people to know each other intimately and unite the Nation strong and one.
