SKIMS Holds free medical camp at Bijbehara

Sher-e-kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura organised a free medical camp at Government Girls Higher Secondary Bijbehara.

Director SKIMS, Prof (Dr) A G Ahanger along with team of doctors treated hundreds of patients in the camp. The camp began at 9 in the morning and continued till 5 PM.

“Around 500 people visited the camp and were diagnosed for various ailments. The patients were provided free medicines,” doctors attending the camp said.

Patients who were in need of further investigations were referred to SKIMS for detailed examination and treatment, the doctors added.

People of Bijbehara and its adjacent areas have hailed the efforts of director SKIMS and his team.

While talking to Kashmir Vision, Dr Ahanger said that such type of camps will continue to be organised in future as well.

“We plan to take health care facilities to peoples door step and these kind of camps will help us achieve the goal,” he said.

The Director said that such camps will be started at tourist spots and far flung areas so that the people who are living very far from SKIMS and are poor are treated in their localities.
