Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh has expressed deep shock and grief over loss of lives in shelling from across the border in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.
Dr Nirmal Singh also strongly condemned targeting of civilian areas and resorting to repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan. He expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and assured every possible support from the government to the people affected by the firing.
Meanwhile, deputy Chief Minister asked the district administration Rajouri to reach out to the people affected by the shelling and provide all possible help to enable them to cope with the distressing situation. He asked for activating all departments to provide relief, medical care and evacuation of people to safer places.
The Dy CM asked the administration to constitute quick response teams to shift people to the safer places and make adequate arrangements for their accommodation by setting up relief camps.
Dr Nirmal Singh also called for keeping fully equipped ambulances standby to attend to the injured persons and veterinary teams to provide immediate treatment to cattle hurt by the shelling.
