Militants opened fire upon army party in Tral

Militants opened fire upon army party in Seer Jagir village of Tral town in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Reports said that Census team of 44 RR fired came under fire when suspected militants opened fire on them.

Initial reports said that army was conducting door to door survey collecting details of the inhabitants when suspected militants opened fire on them. 

A police official said that multiple gunshots were heard after which the joint team of 50RR, CRPF and police reached the spot.

Sources said the army vehicles were seen rushing towards the site and search operation are underway
