Indians concerned about Kashmir situation, says Yashwant Sinha

Reiterating that dialogue is the only way to settle Kashmir issue, senior Bhartiya Janata Party leader and former Union Minister, Yashwant Sinha Friday said that majority of the Indians are concerned about present Kashmir situation and want blood-bath should end.

“Let people of Kashmir know that majority of the Indians are concerned about them and want an end to blood bath. Majority of the Indians are concerned about people of Kashmir and want issue to be settled through dialogue,” Sinha told Kashmir based news agency CNS over phone from New Delhi.

Kashmir has been on the boil since July last year while student protests are refusing to die down. Majority of the mainstream leaders in Kashmir accuse New Delhi of callous attitude and they feel Government of India is in no mood to talk to the real stake-holders.

Yashwant Sinha confirmed that like-minded people are mulling to hold a Kashmir Conclave in New Delhi in coming days. “This Conclave will be organized with a sole objective to send a message to people of Kashmir that there are people in India who care about them. A lot of people in India are interested in Kashmir and want a solution to the issue,” he said.

Responding to a question, Yashwant Sinha said he doesn’t know about government response about their Kashmir Conclave. He also said that Government of India has not responded to his Kashmir Report submitted by him couple of months back.
