National Conference President and MP Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah Thursday paid glowing tributes to former MLA Shopian Sheikh Mansoor on his 27th death Anniversary today.

“Sheikh Mansoor Sahab was a true son of the soil. He left no stone unturned to put Shopian on fast track of development. Till the time he died, he worked tirelessly for the downtrodden and the destitute. On his death anniversary I pay my humble tributes,” NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah said in his message on the occasion.

NC Working President Omar Abdullah also paid glowing tributes to Sheikh Mansoor and recollected his numerous contributions in developing Shopian as a model district and also his efforts in conceiving Mughal Road project. “His sacrifice cannot be forgotten.

He laid down his life for the principles of truth, courage and peace. On his Death Anniversary today, I offer him my tributes,” NC Working President Omar Abdullah said in his message.

Meanwhile a commemorative meeting presided by General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar was held at party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha Complex. Among others addl General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Senior Vice President Mohammad Syed Akhoon, District President Srinagar Peer Afaq, MLA Homshalibugh and District President Kulgam Ab Majeed Bhat Larmi, District President Anantnag Dr Mohammad Shafi, Sheikh Mohammad Rafi and party workers attended the condolence meeting where glowing tributes were paid to the late leader. The meeting concluded with Fateha Khawni and prayers for the departed soul.
