Continuing its drive against the menace of drug abuse, police has arrested a drug peddler and recovered half a kilogram of charas from his possessions in Kupwara today, a police spokesman said.

He said that acting on a specific information, Kupwara police apprehended a man identified as Fayaz Ahmad War son of Abdul Gani a resident of Kulangam, Handwara, from Drugmulla area. Half a kilogram of charas was recovered from his possession.

Police has registered a case FIR number 98/2017 under section 8/20 NDPS Act against him and further investigation has been taken up.
