Police recovered a male unidentified body from river Jehlum in Awantipora, a police spokesman said.

He said that a police party of police station Awantipora fished out an unidentified male body from river Jehlum near Kachachkoot, on Saturday. After completing medico-legal formalities police has initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC to ascertain his identification and cause of death.

Anybody having any information regarding the deceased may please inform Police Station Awantipora on 9419007586, 7051404018 and PCR Awantipora 01933-247369, the spokesman added.
