Civil Secretariat opens in Srinagar amid protests

After a six month stay in Jammu, the Civil Secretariat today re-opened in Srinagar.

As part of a bi-annual Darbar Move practice, all the top offices of Jammu and Kashmir started functioning here today after the six-month recess during which these offices worked from Jammu.

Raj Bhavan and other offices which were closed on the same date in Jammu on April 28, also re-opened today here  in Srinagar.

Meanwhile MLA Langate Er Rasheed, was detained today after he tried to gherao the Civil Secretariat on its opening day.

Rasheed had earlier said that he would gherao the secretariat to protest against the use of force on students, human rights violation and the “RSS control over the secretariat”.

Rashid was detained outside the secretariat building.
