Max Launches Liver and Biliary Sciences OPD in City

Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, launched Liver and Biliary Sciences OPD in Srinagar. The announcement regarding the launch was made in a press conference convened today.

The purpose of newly launched OPD facility is to make sure that the patients from Valley do not have to travel to Delhi and other places for medical consultations, and are provided with all the basic facilities at their doorstep.

Various delegates from the MAX Super Speciality Hospital were present at the press conference. Those who addressed the press conference include: Dr. Mohammad Abdun Nayeem, Senior consultant, MAX Centre for Liver and Biliary Sciences and Rajiv Baila, Sales Head, MAX Super Speciality Hospital.

“Patients have to travel to various places, just to know whether they are in need of liver transplant or not, while doing so they go through a lot. We at MAX, have decided to make it easy for the patients, by providing the consultation in their area,” said Dr. Mohammad Abdun Nayeem.

The OPD will be functional for patients on 4th Sunday of every month, from 10 AM to 2 PM.  A super speciality team will be visiting Max Med, Centre Budshah Chowk on said days.

On being asked was there really a need to start this OPD, as already, a wide healthcare system is in place in the state, Dr. Abdun Nayeem said “The current healthcare infrastructure across the state has limited ability to address emerging challenges in liver disease diagnosis.

According to the official data, there are 3690 health institutions in the state lacking proper infrastructure and management. Keeping the shortage of doctors and infrastructure issues in mind, the launch of the OPD centre will provide access to the much needed healthcare services to the residents.”

While addressing the press conference, Rajiv Baila said that “We are diligently working towards bringing world class services and care to our patients, with an aim to bridge the geographical gap between the patients’ need of quality healthcare services and our infrastructure. With this launch, we are extending our healthcare expertise to the residents of Srinagar, hence eliminating the need to travel to the metro cities for any consultation”

While responding to a question that instead of starting an OPD, why don’t MAX come up with a Super Speciality Hospital in Srinagar, he said that “it is impossible to come up with Super Speciality Hospital everywhere, and that is why we are coming up with this specialized OPD in Srinagar. Furthermore, we will also be conducting Super Speciality OPDs in Max Med centre for neurosurgery, cardiology, ortho, ENT, and urology.”
