Protect your environment, Minister to students

The Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Social Welfare and Housing & Urban Development Department Asiea Naqash today underlined the need for joint efforts to protect the environment. She said the awareness in this regard should start right from the school level.

She emphasized on the need to think globally and act locally to protect the environment.

The Minister was addressing students, staff and parents at Annual Day Celebrations of Arvind Ghosh Higher Secondary School Vijaypur.

The Minister stressed that environment awareness should start from the school level only then it can be effective at regional and national level.

“The vision should be to nurture a generation of young people who are self motivated, have creative thinking, good communication skills, strong sense of commitment and a solid foundation for lifelong learning,” she added.

Highlighting the importance of quality education, the Minister said that the educators share the same mission of nurturing young minds and bringing out the best in them. “We need to cater to all students, so that students with different abilities and interests will be able to exploit their potential to the full,” she added.

The Minister lauded the efforts of the school management in imparting quality and value-based education to the students. 

On the occasion, students dressed up in colorful costume for various performing items, served audience with an assorted platter of entertainment. Through their presentations, the students also highlighted   various issues prevalent in the society.

The Minister also distributed awards among student for their best performances in academic and curricular activities during the year.

Senior political leaders Manjeet Singh and Vikram Singh, State Commissioner JK Bharat Scouts and Guides ID Soni, Principal of School Manjeet Singh and various other officials were present on the occasion.
