Protest erupt in Kupwara after Fidayeen attack

Protest erupted in Kupwara area of North Kashmir following the Fidayeen attack on an army camp in Panzgam village.

According to the reports from Kupwara, protesters are demanding bodies of two militants killed in the attack.

Defence sources said that militants carried out an attack on the Panzgam army camp at around 4:30 am. It led to an exchange of fire that continued for some time.

Three army personal including a Capatian and a Jumior Comissioned Officer were killed in the attack. The identity of the militants is yet to be ascertained.

Five soldiers were injured of whom four were rushed to Srinagar base hospital for specialized treatment.

However no militant outfit has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
