Authorities allot insufficient kerosene quota for Srinagar: KRDA

Stating that the kerosene quota for the Srinagar district is being reduced with each passing month, the Kerosene Retailers and Dealers Association (KRDA) on Saturday said that the authorities are pushing them towards starvation.

Sheikh Manzoor Ahmad, Vice president of the association said that the quota has been reduced for the Srinagar as compared to the other districts of the Valley.

“For Srinagar district, only three lakh liters was allotted by the authorities for nearly one lakh and 85 thousand ration cards,” Ahmad said, adding that the quota allotted by the government is insufficient.

“It seems that the authorities are pushing us towards starvation. The quota is being reduced with each passing month,” he said.

The association later appealed the higher ups to look into the matter and redress their genuine grievances at earliest.
