Police Friday arrested a youth for attempting to rape a six year old minor, a police spokesman said here.

He said that one person (name withheld) reported in Police Post Noorbagh and stated that one Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Rehman resident of Pattan attempted to rape his minor six years old daughter.

A case FIR number 70/2017 under section 376, 511 RPC was registered and investigation was taken up. The police has succeeded in arresting the accused with hours. Further investigation is going on.
