Div Com reviews progress of 4-lanning of Boulevard Road

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting to review the progress of 4-lanning project of the Boulevard Road.

Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, IGP, Chief Engineers of PWD, PDD, PHE and UEED, Director Tourism, GM JKTDC, GM BSNL, Chief Wild Life Warden, Conservator Forest, Collector Land Acquisition, Deputy Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Central, concerned Tehsildhar, SP Traffic and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner was informed that the project starts from Lake View Park to Shalimar covering a total length of 5 kilometers. It was given out that about 123 kanals of land, including 17 structures, 12 shops and 03 plots, comes under the prestigious project.

Officials of the R&B Department informed the meeting that besides completion of acquisition of land the site has also been cleared of obstructions falling within the first kilometer of the total stretch.

Reiterating that the Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti is very keen about this prestigious project, the Divisional Commissioner directed the R&B officials to immediately start the work on the first kilometer stretch. He also directed the officials of PWD, PDD, PHE, Wild Life, Forest, Collector Land acquisition and the concerned Tehsildar to conduct a joint survey on the remaining stretch of this 4-lanning project for demarcation and land acquisition so that the work on the remaining stretch of the project can be started without delay.

Stressing on the importance of clearing all land acquisition cases in a time-bound manner, he directed for disbursement of compensation among the affected land and property owners at the earliest.
