District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ramban Mohammad Aijaz today convened a public
grievance redressal camp at DD Thakur Memorial Community Hall Batroo to otake stock of problems
being faced by the people.
A large number of people hailing from Ukharl, Pogal, Paristan, Senabati and its adjacent areas attended
the camp and put forth their grievances related to water, power supply, road connectivity, sanitation
and ration supply.
District Development Commissioner while speaking on the occasion said that administration is
committed for providing services to peoples at their door steps and various services being provided
under Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA) and single window system established in district head
quarter. He said there is no other important tool which is powerful than this act.
DDC instructed the officers to initiate district-wide campaigns at the door step to educate the common
masses regarding welfare and developmental schemes which can ease the services delivery system if
implemented in letter and spirit. He urged youth to avail the benefits of Stand-up India, Start-up India
Schemes to become economically reliant.
DDC impressed upon the public to adopt new technique in field of horticulture sector for changing
socio-economic status of the area and directed the Chief Agriculture and Chief Horticulture officers to
organise awareness programmes in Ukhral area for sensitizing the farmers about latest know in the
field. He advised the farmers to start Rain Water Harvesting to supplement their irrigation
requirements.
Meantime for assessing progress on development works being executed in the area DDC also conducted
on-site inspections of developmental works under construction in the Paristan and Senabati areas.
The major issues and demands raised by the locals including upgradation of Primary Health Centre
Ukhral, completion of construction works of new type PHC at Senabati, construction work of Bus stand
at Ukharal and construction work of Government High School Pogal, up-gradation and augmentation of
Water supply Schemes and compensation of road from Ukharal to Community Hall Batroo.
While responding to demands, the DDC directed the ACD to prepare a proposal for construction of a
bridge over Ukhral Nallah near Community Hall on priority. He assured the people that steps shall be
taken to develop Ukhral as a tourism spot and matter of SRTC Bus service with concerned authorities.
The DDC was accompanied by District Programme Officer Ashok Pandita, ACD Jahangir Khanday, ACR
Vevaik Puri, CEO Mohd Shrief, District Agriculture Officer KK Koul, Dy CMO Dr Iqbal Bhat, XENs of
PMGSY, PWD, PDD, District Social Welfare Officer, District Youth services and sports officer, CDPOs,
BDOs, Tehsildar and many other officers.
