Mother of two commits suicide

A woman hailing from South Kashmir set herself on fire in Kangan forest of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Police shifted the woman to hospital where she breathed her last, police sources said.
He said that Zamrooda Bano (33), a resident of Srigufwara Anantang according to reports was married to Shabir Ahmed Khan of Rajouri Kadal Srinagar. According to police, after a tiff off with her husband, she fled to Kangan and set herself on fire at Hilpati Haknor area where some locals tried to save her and informed the police station Gund Kangan.
SDPO Kangan Muhammad Umar Shah said that the woman, who is mother of two children with 95% burn injuries had been shifted to SKIMS where she succumbed to her injuries.
“Before her death, the woman in her statement exonerated her husband and asked us not to file any case against her husband. Apparently, her immolation bid was due to some personal reasons,” Shah said adding that family members of the woman have been informed about the incident.
