SRINAGAR: A daylong workshop on the adoption of spray schedule 2014 for the control of various diseases/pests was organized Friday in the meeting hall of Directorate of Horticulture, Kashmir, an official spokesperson said.
The workshop was attended by the prominent growers of all the districts of Kashmir division, farmers, growers, interest groups and representatives of some cooperative societies, the spokesperson said.
Focal point of the workshop was adherence to spray schedule advised by experts of the department for the control of various diseases/pests besides judicious use of pesticides and preventive measures to mitigate the hazardous effects of pesticide use.
In an interactive session of the workshop, the growers asked various questions to the experts of the department related to the farming especially regarding fertilizer application, utilization of pesticides for the effective control of disease/pests, uncertainties under changing climatic situation etc.
A comprehensive PowerPoint Presentation was presented on the prevention of hazardous effects of pesticides and adoption of safety measures.
