Chachra expresses satisfaction on ‘elimination of militants’

Srinagar: Army Friday expressed satisfaction over the preparedness and synergy between the forces which resulted in the killing of 21 militants and arrest of 13 others in Kashmir valley since the beginning of this year.
“Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Sanjiv Chachra arrived in Srinagar today and was briefed by Srinagar-based Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen Gurmit Singh on the synergised efforts of the Army and state police which has resulted in elimination of 21 and apprehension of 13 militants  this year,” a defence spokesman said.
Besides discussion on the overall security situation along Line of Control, Lt Gen Chachra was also briefed on rescue and relief operations undertaken by the Chinar Corps for the people during recent onslaught of snow which caused damages and difficulties in the remote areas of the Valley, he said.
He said the Commander commended the recent operational success and expressed satisfaction over the preparedness and synergy between the security forces.
Lt Gen Chachra also complimented Chinar Corps for extending humanitarian assistance to people during the recent spell of snow, the spokesman added.
