Srinagar: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Prof Saif-u-Din Soz has said that people in Kashmir suffered due to heavy snowfall and administrative failure .
“Since I was in Srinagar I know very well how people suffered for lack of electricity, drinking water and other basic facilities. Many government servants extended a helping hand while others failed to do so,” Soz said in a statement.
“It is on such trying occasions that the muscle of the administration is tested best. I express my anguish at the sad death of a dozen persons in avalanches. I urge the state administration to rise to the occasion and provide facilities to the people. The damage of all kind of properties must be assessed properly and compensation offered at the earliest,” Soz said.
