Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani will be shifted to New Delhi for treatment as his illness has gotten worse, the amalgam said Tuesday.
Geelani is suffering from ‘chronic bronchitis’ and the unexpected change in weather has had an adverse affect on his health, a Hurriyat spokesman said in a statement here.
“He is unable to sleep and has been complaining of body ache and pain. Once the weather improves, he will be taken to New Delhi for medical check up and treatment,” the spokesman said.
Several surgeries in the past may also have taken a toll on Geelani’s health, the spokesman said.
The spokesman appealed “pro-freedom” people to hold special prayers for Geelani’s speedy recovery.
