Rains lash Kashmir, weatherman predicts more

Srinagar: After two days of bright sunshine, intermittent rains across Kashmir brought the chilly conditions back in the valley Sunday.
“There has been light to moderate rainfall in most parts of the valley today,” an official of the MET department said.
He said, however, there were no reports of snowfall from anywhere in the valley.
The wet weather conditions brought down the mercury and the chilly conditions returned. The maximum temperature in Srinagar was 16.3 degrees Celsius but people preferred to stay indoors due to the downpour.
The valley may expect more rains over the next 24 hours, the MET official said.
“Moderate to rather heavy rain/snow would occur at most places over the state,” the official said, adding there will be an increase in precipitation during the next four days.
The official warned of  heavy rain/snowfall at isolated places across the state during next 48 hrs.
