Srinagar: Condemning the sedition charges against Kashmiri students, Jammu and Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS) accused Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of trying “to once again shamelessly obfuscate the issue by suggesting that the students were misguided.”
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had supported the Meerut university’s decision to expel the students by referring to them as “misguided,” the human rights group said in a statement.
Coaching Centres Association (CCA) of Kashmir termed the charging of Kashmiri students with sedition in Meerut as an unfortunate event which was fraught with the “risk of alienating an entire generation of Kashmiris.”
Kashmir University Students Union (KUSU) and Doctors Association of Kashmir(DAK) also condemned the sedition charge against Kashmiri students.
