CCA holds elections

Srinagar: Coaching Centres Association (CCA) of Kashmir Sunday held elections and elected GN Var as its chairman.
In a statement, the CCA said that the elections were held in accordance with the minutes of meeting held with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and Director Education last month.
“The elections were held on the eve of annual general meeting of the association participated by majority of coaching centres including BCI, KIES, VIPS, Sachdeva New PT College, NIET, S N Das Gupta College, Sahil Study Circle, Crescent Classes, KVCC, Zed Education, Al-attieque Institute and others,” the statement said.
According to the statement, Er Mohammed Shahid was elected as the vice chairman while as Hafizullah Bhat, Khursheed Ahmed Kar and Isma Salaria were elected as general secretary, joint secretary and treasurer respectively.
In a statement, the association vowed to work for the betterment of the education sector in the valley and formed different committees entrusted with carrying out various tasks.
“District coaching centres were also given proper representation to cover the entire valley,” the statement added.
The association also re-affirmed the commitment to carry forward the agreement reached with government in letter and spirit.
“We would also identify any black sheep among ourselves who doesn’t follow the rules,” the statement said, adding “We would be acting as a socially responsible organization.”
The statement said that the CCA has called “an important meeting of all the coaching centres of the valley on March 9 to streamline the coaching process and take some important decisions.”
