Army JCO shoots himself dead

Srinagar: A Junior Commissioned officer (JCO) committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in central Kashmir’s Budgam district late Friday, reports said.
JCO, Surinder Singh of 2 Rashtriya Rifles posted at Soibugh Army camp, shot himself with his service rifle, a local news agency GNS quoted sources as saying. “After hearing gunshot his colleague rushed to him where he was found lying in pool of blood,” they said.
The deceased, a resident of Punjab, was immediately removed to the nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, the sources added.
It was not immediately know why the soldier took the extreme step.
The incident comes a day after a Rashtriya Rifles soldier killed his five colleagues before shooting himself dead in Safapora camp in Ganderbal district.
