APDP grieved at Halima’s demise

SRINAGAR: Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) led by Parveena Ahengar Thursdayexpressed deep sorrow over the demise of Haleema, mother of Basharat Ahmad Shah who was  subjected to disappearance in custody of forces in 1990.
A statement issued by the APDP said that at the time of his illegal arrest and subsequent disappearance in the custody of the CRPF, Basharat was a student of Aligarh Muslim University.
“Haleema has joined the list of the parents who died waiting for the justice to prevail,” the statement said, adding “She passed away on February 26 without realizing the wish to see her beloved son.”
The statement said that the struggle she had started, to know the whereabouts of her son, along with her husband has met a tragic end.
“Her husband, Mohammad Amin Shah, has already met the similar fate in their struggle,” it added. The APDP while condoling the demise “pledged to take her struggle to its logical end.”
