Govt forms panel on land acquisition by Army

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted a Divisional Level Committee to monitor the progress of land acquisition/requisition cases by the Army.
The committee headed by Divisional Commissioner has members in the form of all Deputy Commissioners of the respective division, Defence Estate Officers concerned and representative of Army (to be nominated by Northern/Western command).
“In order to streamline and speed up the progress of land acquisition/requisition cases, the committee shall meet quarterly,” reads an order issued by Principal Secretary Home earlier this week.
The committee has been asked to report to Principal Secretary, Home about the progress achieved in disposal of land acquisition and requisition cases and also the issue being monitored by Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM), government of India, New Delhi.
