Srinagar: Chairman Hurriyat Conference(M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Saturday said the hanging and burial of Mohammad Afzal Guru at Tihar Jail would remain a “question mark over the functioning of Indian courts for times to come .”
Mirwaiz said this during a visit to Guru’s family in Doabgah area of Sopore. He was accompanied by
Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Bilal Ghani Lone, Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil, Javed Ahmed Mir, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Hilal Ahmed War, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed , GN Zaki and others.
Expressing solidarity with Guru’s family, Mirwaiz said Guru’s hanging was a tragedy for all the Kashmiris. He said the execution, which had exposed the “true face of Indian democracy,” would remain a
source of inspiration for the Kashmiri people in their just liberation struggle .”
