JKTDC eyeing MNCs, business houses to use upcoming facilities at Pahalgam, Patnitop

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Tourist Development Corporation (JKTDC) is eyeing Multi National Companies and business houses to utilize their upcoming assess at Pahalgam and Patnitop for holding of promotional events and conferences.
The Corporation is expecting to open the Pahalgam Club by April this year, hoping that this heritage club to become a premier choice with business and government for holding events and add to its revenues..
The club that was gutted in 2005 has been reconstructed incurring a cost of Rs 18.5 cores and will have world class facilities to hold promotional events.
Shamin Ahamd Wani, MD JKTDC told Kashmir Reader that the Corporation has to promote destinations and facilities more vibrantly to lure in business houses and MNCs to utilize them, besides enjoy our hospitality that surely will pull in good business.
The club that is being constructed by the engineering wing of the Corporation has been remade in the traditional architecture while adding modern facilities.
The new club will have a main block, which comprises of reception and auditorium blocks which are interlinked, a health block besides a guest block.
Wani said that the bonus for this club is its superb location at this tourist spot and with final touches to its construction “we are hopeful to make it fully functional by March.”
Wani expressed satisfaction the building will be both modern and functional and once operational the Corporation expects to promote this new setup to hold conferences, business events, government functions as it structure has been developed to cater to tehse needs.
The new facilities at the club will have a gym, bowling alley and swimming pool and other recreational facilities, he said.
Wani said that on similar pattern Patnitop is being developed to attract the attention of business houses to hold events and we are renovating and adding more structure at this site so that it could become equitable suited for these promotional events.
“As a corporation we have see that we not only generate resources to meet the expenditure of our employees but significantly improve our structures that now need more attention as many have been run down over the years,” Wani said.
The corporation is also trying to add some high end hotels at various destinations across the state including the one at Yousmarg and Srinagar.
