Baramulla: Baramulla residents are outraged over the soaring vegetable price at the time of Covid-19 lockdown, forcing many to bank on dry beans and other sources for their daily needs. They alleged that district administration is unable to fix the rates of in the district. The locals said that hemp is 70 rupees per kg, spinach 70 rupees, tomato 60, potato 50 and onion 50 rupees per kg. “The vendors are taking advantage of the crisis and are looting people who are helpless,” a local said. “District administration should take immediate steps to stop this black marketing,” people said. They said that shopkeepers in rural areas have also increased the rate of every eatable item.
