Baramulla: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detected by the road opening party of the Army on Baramulla Uri road on Sunday that was later defused by Bomb Disposal Squad of police.
The army personal according to police detected the IED near stone quarries along the road near Khanpora. The traffic and immediately stopped along the arterial road.
A senior police official said that the IED was defused by the BDS of the police on spot averting a major mishap, adding that it was apparently planted by militants to target security personnel.
