BARAMULLA: Locals of Ahmadpora Pattan on Monday held a protest demostration against the Power Development Department (PDD) outside the main receiving station, seeking immediate end to frequent power cuts in their area.
The locals said more areas are being added to their receiving station that has resulted in its frequent tripping down.
“ We are not receiving supply for only few minutes and the schedule set by the departments is not being followed as out receiving station is not able to cope with the load ,” said the protesters.
They said that the department should augment the capacity of the station and immediacy snap the area that have been added to it. The locals even locked the receiving station for few hours .
Later they were pacified by the SDM Patten who promised that they will raise issue with PDD officials.
