Srinagar: Clashes erupted in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday following a search operation launched by the government forces.
According to sources, army’s 13 RR unit and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Syed Mohalla locality of Hajin around 4 am.
The search operation was launched following “specific inputs” about the presence of militants in the area.
However, youth took to streets and pelted stones on the forces to disrupt the operation.
The operation was called off after four hours, the witnesses said.
