Shopian: Suspected gunmen on Friday night attacked a police post in south Kashmir’s Shopian district. However, there was no immediate report of any casualties.
“Militants fired upon police post Keegam, to which police retaliated. The militants escaped from the spot after a brief exchange of fire,” said a police officer.
Locals sources said that they heard gunshots around 7 pm which continued for about 10 minutes. They said that militants firing was retaliated by the police men on duty.
They added that as per initial information there was not any loss of life or property.
