Srinagar: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Anantnag police has arrested a drug peddler and recovered huge quantity of charas from his possession.
A senior police official said that acting on a specific information, a police party of Police Station Ashmuqam headed by SHO Ashmuqam arrested a drug peddler identified as Tariq Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Dangerpora Yaal Ashmuqam and recovered a huge quantity of charas from his possession.
A case FIR number 04/2018 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered and investigation was taken up, the official added.
