Shopian: Protests erupted in Keller area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district after army allegedly thrashed students at Government Higher Secondary School Keller.
Witnesses said that a patrolling party of Army was stoned near Higher Secondary School Keller following which they barged into the premises of the institute and thrashed some students ‘ruthlessly’ and took identity cards of some students along with them as well.
Reports said that one among the students got injured and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Sources said soon after the news spread in the area, locals along with the students took to streets and started protesting against the alleged high handedness of the forces.
Protests went on till afternoon, witnesses added.
