Pampore industrial estate land issue to be resolved swiftly: Satish Sharma Meets public delegations, assures swift redressal of grievances

SRINAGAR: Satish Sharma, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs, IT, Youth Services & Sports, and Science & Technology, met various public delegations across Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, reaffirming the government’s commitment to responsive and transparent governance. He listened patiently to grievances concerning industrial development, public services, and civic amenities, assuring timely redressal.
A delegation from the Pampore Brick & Tile Factory Industrial Estate, comprising 118 lessees, raised concerns about a four-year delay in land possession, which hampers industrial growth and employment. Sharma assured them that the issue would be escalated and resolved swiftly, emphasizing the importance of promoting entrepreneurship and job creation. He stated that the government would coordinate with relevant departments to facilitate an expedited solution within existing rules.
The Minister also met the Fair Price Shop Association, which highlighted issues related to ration depot operations and commission releases. Sharma assured that their demands would be sympathetically examined to strengthen the Public Distribution System’s efficiency. Similarly, representatives of the Kerosene Dealers Association voiced concerns affecting dealers and consumers; Sharma assured discussions with authorities to find practical solutions.
Delegates from the National Youth Councils (NYCs) submitted a memorandum on youth welfare, which Sharma acknowledged, emphasizing the government’s commitment to engaging with youth and addressing their issues. Other delegations raised concerns about infrastructure, civic amenities, road connectivity, drinking water, electricity, and sports facilities across different districts.
Addressing the gatherings, Sharma reiterated that the Omar Abdullah-led government prioritizes direct engagement with the public, ensuring grievances are addressed promptly. He assured each delegation that their issues would be taken up with relevant departments for action. The Minister emphasized the government’s dedication to inclusive development, safeguarding public welfare, and ensuring benefits reach all sections of society.
