SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Convenor Minority Wing (Kashmir Province), Sardar Jagdish Singh Azad, has appealed to the Divisional Administration Kashmir and the Heads of all concerned departments, particularly the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Power Development Department (PDD), and Transport Department, to ensure adequate arrangements and public facilities for devotees on the occasion of the Martyrdom Day of Guru Arjun Dev Ji Maharaj.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Azad said that the sacred occasion will be observed on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, across the Kashmir Valley with religious fervour and devotion. The main function is scheduled to be held at Gurdwara Shaheed Bunga, Barzulla, Srinagar, where a large number of devotees from different parts of the Valley are expected to participate.
He urged the authorities to make comprehensive arrangements, including uninterrupted power and water supply, sanitation and cleanliness measures, traffic management, public transport facilities, medical assistance and other essential services to facilitate the smooth conduct of the religious event.
Azad emphasized that Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji’s supreme sacrifice for the ideals of humanity, religious freedom, peace and communal harmony continues to inspire generations and serves as a guiding light for society.
