District Pulwama Ball Badminton Championship 2026-27 concludes

PULWAMA: The two-day District Pulwama Ball Badminton Championship for Boys and Girls (Session 2026–27) concluded successfully today with great enthusiasm and fanfare at Al-Habeeb Modern High School, Pulwama. The championship was organized from June 9 to June 10, 2026, by the District Pulwama Ball Badminton Association under the aegis of the J&K Ball Badminton Association and the Ball Badminton Federation of India.
The two-day event was sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council and witnessed the participation of nearly 130 players representing various schools, colleges, and clubs from across District Pulwama. The championship provided a competitive platform for young athletes to showcase their talent, skills, and sportsmanship.
Arshid Ahmad Bhat graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. Addressing the participants, he congratulated the players on their outstanding performances, assured them of his full support for the sporting community, and encouraged the youth to continue pursuing excellence in sports.
The participants expressed their gratitude to the District Pulwama Ball Badminton Association for organizing the championship and providing them with an opportunity to compete and display their abilities. They also thanked the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council and its Secretary, Nuzhat Gul, for their continued support and efforts in promoting sports across the Union Territory.
The Organising Secretary extended special appreciation to Arsheena Khan, General Secretary of the J&K Ball Badminton Association and Vice President of the Ball Badminton Federation of India; Umar Rasool, President of the J&K Ball Badminton Association; and Muddasir Qayoom, Senior Vice President of JKBBA, for their dedicated efforts in promoting Ball Badminton and creating opportunities for young athletes.
The players selected during the championship will represent District Pulwama in the forthcoming J&K UT-Level Ball Badminton Championship, where they will compete against the best players from across the Union Territory.
The championship concluded with the distribution of medals and trophies among the winners in recognition of their hard work, dedication, and outstanding performances.
The Guests of Honour present on the occasion included Zahoor Ahmad, Aftab Ahmad Malik, Mohd Akram, and Showkat Ahmad.
The District Pulwama Ball Badminton Association expressed sincere gratitude to the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, the J&K Ball Badminton Association, officials, coaches, parents, volunteers, and all stakeholders whose support and cooperation contributed to the grand success of the championship.
