SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President and Honourable Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have paid glowing tributes to party stalwarts Fakhr-e-Kashmir Mirza Mohammad Afzal Beg and Khawaja Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah on their death anniversaries.
In their tribute, the duo described the late leaders as pillars of the party who steadfastly upheld its ideals and principles, remaining unswayed by the lure of power. They said that the contributions of Beg and Shah to public life and the National Conference remain immense and continue to inspire those aspiring to serve the people through public service.
Recalling their dedication, commitment, and sacrifices, the duo said that the legacy of the two stalwarts would continue to guide future generations. They prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and for their exalted place in Jannat-ul-Firdous.
Meanwhile, commemorative Fatiha Khawani ceremonies will be held at the respective graveyards of the two leaders in Sarnal, Anantnag and Chatabal, Srinagar. Party functionaries, workers and people from different walks of life will participate in the prayers and offer floral tributes in their memory.
Party’s rank and file has also paid glowing tributes to Beg and Shah and recalled their seminal contributions in strengthening the party on ground.
Meanwhile, Dr. Farooq Abdullah wednesday visited Sarnal in Anantnag to offer condolences to the bereaved Beg family on the sad demise of the wife of veteran party leader and former minister, late Khawaja Safdar Beg.
He was accompanied by Additional General Secretary and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, along with MLAs Altaf Ahmad Wani, Hasnain Masoodi, Reyaz Ahmad Khan, Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Zafar Ali Khatana, and Publicity Secretary Mir Ghulam Mohammad Saqi.
They expressed deep solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. They offered Fatiha and shared their heartfelt sympathies with the family during this moment of grief.
